Information for tenants
If you have a private tenancy and your landlord (or agent) received your deposit on or after 1 April 2013, by law it must be protected in a government approved scheme. TDS Northern Ireland is the market leader in deposit protection.
We protect deposits from being lost or unfairly withheld, and resolve disputes where tenants and landlords can't agree how much the landlord can deduct. Your landlord can choose to protect your deposit with our insured scheme, where they hold the deposit, or the custodial scheme, where they pay the deposit to us.
