TDS NORTHERN IRELAND PARTNER WITH SOCIAL ENTERPRISE NORTHERN IRELAND TO STRENGTHEN SOCIAL ENTERPRISE LEADERSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY

TDS Northern Ireland partner with Social Enterprise Northern Ireland to strengthen social enterprise leadership and sustainability
TDS Northern Ireland is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Social Enterprise Northern Ireland (SENI), aimed at supporting leadership and sustainability in the social enterprise sector. This collaboration will launch two major initiatives to strengthen the capacity and impact of social enterprises across Northern Ireland.
Executive leadership development programme launch
A key part of this partnership is the new Executive Leadership Development Programme, which will support up to 60 social enterprise leaders across three cohorts over the next 18 months. The programme will be heavily subsidised for social enterprise leaders, and private sector leaders are also encouraged to apply to build networks and benefit from peer learning.
Designed and delivered by experienced facilitators from the Social Enterprise Academy, the programme will focus on:
- Developing enterprising and commercially focused mindsets
- Enhancing financial sustainability
- Building resilient leadership
Participants will benefit from a blend of in-person and online learning, peer networking, and the option for accreditation through Glasgow Caledonian University.
Applications for the first cohort will open shortly, with up to 18 places available per group. Modules will cover topics such as sustainability, commercial strategy, design thinking, and personal resilience, with additional masterclasses tailored to learner needs.

£15,000 Social Enterprise Grant Fund
In addition to the leadership programme, TDS Northern Ireland will provide £15,000 in grant funding to support social enterprises across the region. These grants will help recipients:
- Scale their impact
- Invest in innovation
- Build long-term sustainability
The grants will be distributed through regional events in a Dragons’ Den-style format, ensuring accessibility across Northern Ireland.
Voices of support
Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald welcomed the partnership, stating:
“Our social enterprise sector is a key contributor to our local economy. I very much welcome initiatives that support its continued and increased contribution to inclusive economic development.
